Just a Few Thoughts

You ever wonder why people are so busy? I wonder why I make myself really busy. I tell myself that it'll pay off if I run certain errands mindlessly. How exactly do we benefit by blinding and dulling our senses every time we do something worth while. Imagine what we would learn and experience and gather just by paying attention when we do our chores. Homework, jobs, running to the grocery store. I was going to the movie theater this past Saturday, and instead of just walking forward, I stopped and looked up. It was awesome. The view I got just by observing my surroundings. I live in NYC. I just moved here a little more than a year ago from the South. I did use to live in upstate NY (which yes, I do realize is completely different from the NYC area and Long Island), and I have spent a lot of time in the City before, so it's not like I'm a complete tourist. I am familiar with the area. However, when I walked through the Village on Saturday and I looked up to the sky, I realized how much detail some of the most unsuspecting buildings have. This relates to the rest of life. It seems like the more familiar you get with a situation or position in life, the less likely you are to notice your surroundings because you cocoon yourself into routine. This can be dangerous. Why do we do this? Security, comfort, maybe because we have a desire to pursue a dream or goal and we think the only way to do it is to follow some kind of model of how life is supposed to be. The American Dream? Who said the way to our goal is the same way? Now I'll tell you one thing, the only way to happiness is through Jesus. Before people jump up, I just need everyone to understand something. The only way to ever be happy and to have love and achieve your most true goals is to pursue God and listen to him. He talks to all of us, but unfortunately most of us won't ever listen to him. Another thing is that we are all worthy of God. He made us to be worthy of him, he loves us and wants us. The only way to God is through Jesus. We need to go through him to reach God and achieve happiness, which is what we are all looking for in the end, right? So really, we are all working towards the same thing, but from different starting points and directions, so each of us walk an individual path, but we are all meant to walk together and support each other an work together. We need to love each other and help enlighten each other, so that we can help guide and lead each other to God's voice, so that we may be able to unite with everything.

Trust, don't hope.

God bless.
